- Work the Career Planning Timeline.
Log into the system and complete all of the activities in your Career Planning Timeline. Save favorites to discuss with teachers, counselors and parents.
- Start thinking about potential careers.
Learn more about careers that interest you in the “Explore Occupations” tab. What level of education is needed? Take the opportunity this summer to speak to someone about these careers. Find possible job shadowing opportunities in your community.
- Prepare for a summer job.
Use the tools in the “Plan for Work” tab to prepare for interviews and even fill out a sample work application. Practice makes perfect!
- Get organized for scholarships
The “Note Taker” tool is a great way to keep track of the organizations you work with and the volunteer hours you log. This experience can also be added to your résumé or used for future scholarship and college applications.
- Thinking about college?
Explore colleges in the “Plan for Education” tab. Find a few local colleges that offer camps and conferences over the summer months. These will allow you to experience and explore campus life. You may even want to consider taking a college course this summer.
